Facebook Social Ads - The Demographic Pay Per Click

Post on Sep 30th 2008

In the world of online marketing, one impressive dynamic most people believe Google has cornered is the Pay Per Click advertising. Although Google Adsense and Adwords are incredible and impressive methods of generating traffic and income, Google now has competition. Facebook is running a newly released Pay Per Click Program that can be specified down to the target demographic, something more specified than available through Google. The obvious intention of the Facebook Social Ads program is to rival the Google PPC program, and the design of the program is poised to do just that.

Many online businesses seek a quick return for their advertising dollar, and pay per click programs is ideal for this. The Facebook Social Networking group identified this, and has chosen to create an impressive pay per click program, that will maximize the advertising dollars by combining click quantity with click quality. The combination promises to be explosive for the online marketers and those maximizing on the Facebook Flyer revenue. As many companies will flock to the demographic designed flyer program, an equal number of people willing to share the advertising space will grow by leaps and bounds, as occurred shortly after Google introduced the pay per click option in volume.

The world-renowned social network has newly released its pay-per-click program with cost-per-click as well as cost-per-impression fee structures. The attractiveness of advertising through a social network is the ability to choose particular target demographics. Should you not know who your intended demographics are, you are able to utilize Facebook to identify an audience acutely likely to take advantage of your ads. Before a marketer even lists their ads with Facebook Social Ads, the advertiser can use their demographic identifying search and Facebook Polls and see how the pay per click campaign can expand and demographically target the total possible audience available to market to.

Facebook has created an easy, customer friendly interface, which is incredibly simple to comprehend. The reporting given to the marketing client includes the complete demographic data, ad performance, trends related to the ad, and how many clicks generated. Facebook Flyers Pro is designed to be the most complete user friendly, marketer friendly program currently available, although the program is still new to the marketplace it is poised to be a true Google competitor. It is set to create a broad foundation for marketing opportunities, with a target for the home-based businesses.

The volume potential for the Facebook PPC vs. Google is huge, primarily because the Google PPC program is designed to reach an incredibly broad audience, with little discrimination as the ads appear above the standard search results. In theory this would be a prudent application, however if the demographic can be further narrowed, as is possible with the Facebook Pay Per Click, the quality of the click will expand the participating businesses significantly as those clicking will be specific to where they would like to see business generated. And those who fit into the specified demographic may be more interested in purchasing services and products from the companies involved.

Facebook Demographic based social ads are most probably the next generation Internet marketing tool. For more information visit Internet Marketing BYTES.

Comparing Day Job Killer & Beating Adwords

Post on Sep 30th 2008

With all of the hype that has been going around all over the net about day job killer you would think that this is the end all to your problems of marketing on the Internet. Heres a side by side comparison of Day Job Killer and Beating Adwords. I have read both of these guides and heres my take on each of them.

Day Job Killer

Day Job Killer is a PPC guide that was written by Chris McNeeney. Chris is also the author of Adwords Miracle and Project Affiliate X. Ive read Project Affiliate X and found that it was written with great care. Project Affiliate X is a concise and clearly written guide that is very easy for the average reader to follow and understand. There are many good strategies in this guide that work very well. This guide is a good read. I cant comment about Adwords Miracle because I have never read it.

Project Affiliate X broke the record on clickbank for the most sales made in the first week. In my opinion Day Job Killer, unlike Project Affiliate X, was carelessly and hurriedly written in order to get it out as quickly as possible to get similar success results as he did with Project Affiliate X. Day Job Killer did break Project Affiliate Xs record for the most sales made in the first week.

Unfortunately Day Job Killer does not come even close to all of the hype and claims Chris and his affiliates are pushing. The guide is very poorly written with so many spelling errors that at times you have a hard time figuring out what some of the words are. The layouts of the strategies are really bad and are unlike what the author and his affiliates claim, and are very hard to understand.

The black hat strategies in this guide are going to get a lot of marketers in trouble with Google. If you are new to pay per click it will be impossible to succeed with the Day Job Killer strategies. Even if you are a seasoned pay per click marketer I guarantee that it will take a lot more work and improving on any given strategy to make any of the strategies work. It makes me shutter with anger every time I think of the claim that Day Job Killer was written for the everyday marketer.

While I cant tell you how to do any particular strategy, I can tell you about one, and what it is supposed to do. I remember this particular idea because it didnt sit very well with me because it was so ridiculous that there is no way that it could ever work. What it claims to do is to knock off a successful ad campaign that has been running for a long time. In other words make that marketer take his campaign and run for the hills to never be seen again.

I can tell you that the strategies in this guide will be very difficult if not impossible to implement. Stay away from this guide because it is of high risk. You will certainly lose a lot more money than you will ever make with this thing. It goes without saying, that I never used any of the strategies in this guide and you shouldnt either. They are too risky.

Beating Adwords

The authors of Beating Adwords are Kyle and Carson, better known as the Wealthy Affiliates. They dont disclose their last names. Whats up with everyone using made up names or only using their first names lately? I guess if it works for one person everyone is going to jump on the bandwagon and try it themselves.

Unlike Day Job Killer, Beating Adwords is not anywhere near as popular as DJK is. Thats probably because it is not as hyped or as well publicized as DJK is.

These two guides are as different as night and day. Beating Adwords is a very clearly well written guide that is extremely easy to understand.

The guide is basically a step by step walk through of the PPC process. It tells you what you should do to setup a successful PPC campaign. You are also told what not to do which is probably more important than knowing what to do in that it will save you time, money, and a lot of headaches.

The guide does not make any wild claims that you can just sit back and do nothing and somehow, magically, the money will start rolling in. You are told from the start of the guide and on the pitch page that there will be work on your part for the outlined strategies to work. You are not given any hyped up BS that you can make money with little or no work on your part. Whens the last time you made money without having to do anything for it? Thats what attracted me to buy this guide in the first place.

The guide talks about optimizing your web pages and tells you how to do it to give you better results with your PPC campaign. It teaches you how to bid on keywords at as low of a cost as possible and still be effective and at the same time be the most profitable. In other words they teach you how to get the biggest bang out of your buck.

There are a lot of things in that guide about using Googles adwords system that I never knew about and am sure that most people dont know about as well. The things that you learn about the adwords system alone will absolutely blow your mind.

I spent two weeks getting everything setup and underway using the Beating Adwords strategies. It was quite a bit of work but I got everything up and running and so far after running my PPC ads for the past week everything is looking great and I am in profit to this point.

If you have been considering buying a Pay Per Click guide, Beating Adwords is far and away the better choice. If you have been considering buying Day Job Killer you may want to put that thought out of your mind because you will get severely burned if you try using the strategies in that guide.

What Are Negative Keywords?

Post on Sep 30th 2008

Negative keywords are added to your list of keywords to prevent your ad from showing. So if someone performs a search query that contains one of your negative keywords, your ad will not be served. In essence they serve as a filtering mechanism. Think of it in terms like panning for gold. You shake the pan to filter the dirt so the gold nuggets become exposed. Negative keywords are “your pan” and when properly used, the targeted user will filter through.

So how do you find a negative keyword? During your keyword research, if you stumble across a keyword that does not quite fit your product description, then BINGO you just found a negative keyword. You then add that keyword to your list with a little minus sign in front of it. By placing a minus sign in front of a keyword, it prohibits that keyword from triggering your ad. A negative keyword looks like this: -keyword

Using negative keywords not only helps you increase control over the serving of your ad but it will also help to increase your click through rate (CTR) and that in turn will also increase your quality score with Google. Your conversion rates will go up because your ads will only be served for relevant queries. A word of caution though; be sure not to limit your exposure too much by the use of negative matches.

Its important to note that should you discover your click through rate is NOT increasing and/or your conversion rate decreasing, then you need to review your negative keyword list immediately and make the proper adjustments.

You Too Can Build A Thriving Internet Business With The Right Google Ads

Post on Sep 28th 2008

The Rich Jerk of Internet Fame just wrote a new book about his Internet Marketing Strategies for making money with Google Adwords and more… He has made millions with Google Adwords and was ranked Number 1 for over three years for several of the most competitive keywords in the internet database. You too can learn how to match his wits and work his strategy to build a profitable business on line starting soon.

But, first you must understand why most marketers fail in their advertising efforts with Google Adwords.

Most marketers fail because they do not understand Googles complex algorithms structure and the demands it places on them to create good performing ads. They hold up their hands in frustrations and give up when their poorly performing ads get disabled, or deleted. In cases like these, Google ask them to bid more in order to keep their showing on various sites. Some just pay whatever Google asks so they keep their poor performing ads placed in rotation and hope that buyers would click on their ads and buy their products and services. They end up losing money this way.

However, quite recently, Google finally allow all approved ads to show on sites, even if your click through rate [CTR] is underperforming. In that case your advertising bill will go through the roof, but your [CTR] will be every poor. In other words, you will not be turning most of your visitors into customers.

Internet Marketers either do not have the time, skills or the patience to create ads that pulls and one that draws customers like flies. So, they opt to pay more and keep their ads running. They usually have deep pockets. Many of these are major corporations etc..

For Marketers on a budget, the little guy, the skills of creating pulling ads are challenging and those who know how to create thee ads get substantial results and make tremendous profits.

While you can profit more from The Rich Jerk link below, here are some fundamental strategies you can use to create better performing ads that boost your profits:

I am assuming that you have already set up a Google Account, understand Googles policy and can create ads within the Google Adwords Website.

1.You must have a deep understanding about what your site is all about. Find the right keywords that would match what you are trying to sell or offer to your visitors.

2.Once you find that keyword, place it as an exact match, with brackets [keyword here] like this. Find a few other appropriate keywords and do the same, and put them in our keyword list and save it to your campaign. The way the algorithm works, it takes into consideration the other words in your list and extrapolates value rating that makes up our bid price. The better you can focus on selecting your most appropriate keyword the lower your bid price will be. You will obtain a higher CTR with a lower bid price.

3.

Create your ad meeting Googles parameters. The wording in your ad must make sense or Google will disable or delete them. In your headline, plug in your keyword. Try to put your keyword in the second line also. In the third line, use call for action words.Save your ad.

4.When you use exact match, visitors who type in that keyword will trigger your ad and hopefully buy from you, more than you would with phrase match.. As your watch your results, youll determine if you want to broaden your scope of your ads. You can then use phrase match like this, keyword here in quotes, and while that will lower your CTR because you will be including other visitors out of the exact match keyword area, you will have more clicks. If you are getting 1 click per thousand visitors, that would be an OK result as Google sees it.

According to Google, A CTR of 0.1% is OK, This is considered normal. It is up to you to create strong pulling ads to raise this CTR… Some advertisers get as high as 15.0% CTR. This is remarkable. From these results you can determine where you want to be.

These are some of the strategies the Rich Jerk has used to create his millions. For more detailed strategies, see my resource box below and click on the link shown to find about how the Rich Jerk did it and made his millions and other useful strategies.

5 Key Advantages of PPC Advertising

Post on Sep 28th 2008

In December 2006, 6.7 billion searches have been made in sites such as Google, Yahoo and MSN. Millions of people use these search engines for all kinds of information needs. As a result, PPC advertising has become one of the fastest growing means of online advertising. Thus it could disastrous for any company to overlook PPC advertising in their online marketing and Search Engine Marketing (SEM) plans.

The basic idea of PPC campaigns is that you are only charged when a user clicks on your ad but besides this PPC advertising provides certain unique advantages which has added to its increasing popularity and its rising importance as an efficient marketing tool.

Some key advantages offered by PPC campaigns are:

1. Low cost and immediate results: Compared to traditional mediums of advertising you incur only a fraction of costs in PPC advertising. Typically a PPC campaign requires a small budget to start with and in PPC campaigns since you are charged per click and you pay only when a user clicks on your ad. A campaign can be up and running within a day or two and once the campaigns are running your ads are immediately listed on the search engines, thus providing almost instant results.

2. Keyword Specific: PPC campaigns are keyword specific and thus you have the ability to choose keywords and phrases relevant to your companys products and services thereby reducing the cost incurred due to irrelevant clicks. Apart from cost advantage another important feature of PPC campaign is that since its keyword specific you can get detailed information about the search volume for the keywords relevant to your business and thus helping you create better targeted ads and only attract those consumers that are interested in your products/services.

3. Getting Market Insight: PPC campaigns provide you option of promoting your products/services only to the regions of your business operation or interest. You can run your ads for certain set of keywords in particular region and for another set of keywords in another region and by monitoring your results you can gain insight into the market of a particular region or a country. This can help you identify new business prospects and also help you in shaping your future marketing strategies for a particular region.

4. Understanding Consumer Mindset: In PPC campaigns you get access to comprehensive data with regards what a consumer in a particular region is looking for and whether your products/services are relevant to them and satisfy their needs. It also helps you determine consumer mindset when it comes to your products/services. This can help you understand whether your products/services are in demand and whether you need to offer new in-demand products/services. Thus you can develop your business in more efficient way by offering only those products/services that consumers are looking for. So your business model can be more in tune with the consumer expectation.

5. Generating awareness: PPC advertising is also very useful for both newly launched brands as well as for upcoming brands. With specifically targeted campaigns you can generate awareness about your products/service as well the advantages you offer and that also to only those consumers who are interested in products/services similar to yours and in only those regions where your products/services are accessible. Thus it can help you build a brand image for yourself even before launching your product/services and also create brand awareness about your products/services.

Thus PPC advertising offers certain unique features making it more advantageous both in monetary as well as strategic terms. And since it can be designed according to your own business scenario and consumer preferences, it could be a very important aspect of your Search Engine Marketing campaign and can hardly be overlooked in your online marketing strategy as well in your overall marketing strategy.

The Perils and Pitfalls of Pay-per-click Advertising

Post on Sep 28th 2008

In this age of speed dialing, T1 lines and other forms of high-tech instant gratification, many webmasters find themselves tempted to engage in pay-per-click advertising. After all, if youve just designed a state-of-the-art website, theres nothing quite as gratifying as a steady stream of traffic right from the start. Webmasters with open wallets have found that pay-per-click can provide traffic within hours or even minutes of a websites launch.

Pay-per-click Pros

Before considering the perils and pitfalls of pay-per-click, its worthwhile to remember that in some instances, pay-per-click is a good market strategy. A number of reputable SEO firms combine pay-per-click management with search engine optimization as a method of getting their clients the clicks they need. Pay-per-click can be an especially effective strategy for:

companies trying to beat a competitor to market with a new product who want to garner substantial traffic while waiting for their SEO efforts to kick in

webmasters with deep pockets who are more concerned about establishing a quick presence than long-term return on investment

webmasters who are reaping a return on investment high enough to justify expenditures on pay-per-click

Significant Drawbacks

Although there are valid reasons to engage in pay-per-click advertising campaigns, there are also enough drawbacks to give any webmaster pause.

Companies considering pay-per-click need to determine the primary purpose of their marketing campaignwhether it be immediate sales, building website value, or a combination of the two. If immediate sales is the goal and a worthwhile return on investment is being achieved, pay-per-click may be the strategy of choiceat least until good search engine positioning can be obtained.

Webmasters seeking to build a valuable web-based business should remember that whenever the money spigot for pay-per-click stops, so do the clicks. In contrast, clicks resulting from an investment in search engine optimization will continue for months and possibly years to come.

Monitoring ROI

Return on investment (ROI) is another key factor to monitor during the implementation of any pay-per-click marketing strategy. ROI can drop dramatically as market forces change. An increase in competition, when combined with rising costs-per-click and plummeting product prices, can quickly spell doom for a previously profitable ad campaign.

Computing ROI for pay-per-click can be a bit tricky. Since most sites receive free traffic resulting from SEO efforts, its important to try and ferret out what percentage of sales are resulting from pay-per-click and what percentage are resulting from your other SEO efforts.

Choosing which sites and search terms to allocate advertising dollars to can also be somewhat daunting. Rapid changes in per-click charges can also be challenging to manage well. If your bid is #1 and our competitors lower their bids, you may be left paying a higher price than necessary to maintain top positioning. This is the webmasters equivalent of throwing money down the drain. Unless you plan to sit by your computer watching per-click charges on an hourly basis, some type of pay-per-click management is, in my opinion, an absolute necessity.

In running a successful pay-per-click campaign, there are also questions to be answered about whether to try for top positioning or settle for some lesser spot, and which pay-per-click ads pull the best.

While I have learned never to say never, I am not presently using pay-per-click for any of my websites. Though I have used it in the past and may resort to it again, my website is doing better than ever without it. Pay-per-click is just one more thing to manage, and, if not managed well, can become a financial drain in a hurry. Im a pretty busy person, and probably a tightwad as well. As a result, pay-per-click isnt part of my current marketing arsenal.

That doesnt mean, however, that it might not be right for your site. Do some testing, study it out, and consider the cons described in this article. In the words of an old adage, if something is worth doing at all, it is worth doing well. This is especially true for things that cost money. My advice is to keep that thought firmly in mind whenever you open your webmaster wallet.

Will eMiniMalls Go the Way of Tivo — or Replay?

Post on Sep 28th 2008

Did you ever hear of Replay TV? They started up at about the same time as TiVo and did pretty much the same thing: they developed a personal video recorder that stores television shows on a hard drive. Whenever both companies appeared at tech shows, critics would rave about Replays technology and turn their noses up at TiVos.

Replay died just as TiVo hit the big time.

So if Replay had such a great product, what went wrong? Well, it seems to be the same thing thats going wrong with Chitika at the moment.

I still think that Chitika have a great product. Their ads look good, theyre fun to mouse over, packed with information and theyre easy for publishers to control. Ive had some pretty impressive CTRs with them.

Like Replay, theres nothing wrong with Chitikas product. But there seems to be plenty wrong with whats happening on the business end of the company. First there was the audit that slashed everyones incomes. That came out of the blue, hit everyone right where it hurt and destroyed much of the trust and enthusiasm that had built up around the companys eMiniMalls. Now theres a delay in paying the results of those same slashed November earnings — and that delay wasnt announced until after the payments should already have been made.

The people at Chitika are a pretty smart bunch and they went out of their way to make eMiniMalls friendly to publishers. I dont know how they messed up so badly or whos responsible for it, but I sure hope they going to get it fixed (although even if they do, I think theyre going to have to work pretty hard to win back peoples trust.)

But I cant imagine a product as good as eMiniMalls is just going to disappear. Ive already seen traditional ads designed to look exactly like eMiniMalls on Web pages. They werent interactive and they looked too much like ads to be very effective but its pretty clear that ads like eMiniMalls can be a great way to generate extra revenue. Users love them.

Even if Chitika dont get their act together, Im pretty confident that someone else will. Im going to be keeping a close eye on Chitika to see if they can solve their problems… but Im also going to be watching out for other companies to see if theyre going to take advantage of Chitikas big idea.

Protecting Your Profits on Pay-Per-Click Engines: The 3 Common Mistakes Marketers Make

Post on Sep 23rd 2008

The plan in your head seems so simple: bid on keywords on pay-per-click (PPC) engines then watch your business skyrocket. Some marketers do achieve instant success. However, many are losing money because theyve got gaping holes in their PPC strategy. Dont overlook the basics.

Search engines such as Yahoo! and Google allow you to bid on keywords and drive visitors to your web site for a per-click fee. The Yahoo! Sponsored Search program has a $30 non-refundable deposit and a $0.10 per click minimum bid (and a $20 per month minimum spend). The Google AdWords program has a $5 account activation fee and a $0.01 per click minimum bid. For many PPC engines, the highest bid typically gets the highest position, and youll only be charged when someone clicks on your ad.

Just because it can take less than 15 minutes to set up a PPC campaign doesnt mean you should! Lets look at three common mistakes PPC advertisers make:

1. Choosing the Wrong Keywords

The wrong keywords deliver too much traffic that doesnt convert, or too few visitors to impact your bottom line. The trick is to choose highly-targeted keywords that are targeted, yet popular enough that youll get decent traffic without blowing your entire budget in 24 hours. If youre trying to get visitors to take action on your site, its mission critical to track your leads or sales at the keyword level. Without knowing which keywords did and did not perform, you wont be able to maximize your advertising profits.

2. Writing Ad Copy that Attracts Non-Buyers

Generic-sounding copy is terrible, especially for pay-per-click. Something like we offer business solutions to help your company succeed is so vague that its going to attract people who have no use for your company. Youll be paying for wasted clicks. A worse offense is to over-promote your offer which also attracts non-buyers; the word free has to be used carefully for this reason. Make your ad descriptive and compelling so potential customers know what youre selling and get ready to buy before they land on your site.

3. Using a Landing Page that Doesnt Sell

Do not, I repeat, do not send PPC traffic to your home page. Besides certain exceptions, its not the most relevant page for the users search query. The landing page you send visitors to, and the way its designed and written, determines if people stay or abandon your site. Design and test your landing pages for optimal conversions.

Successful pay-per-click campaigns start with careful consideration of the basics. New advertisers should take time to plan out their campaign while existing advertisers should optimize these basic ingredients. Protect your profits!

Three Google Adwords Secrets for Massive Online Profits

Post on Sep 23rd 2008

If you know anything at all about Internet marketing, then Im sure youre aware of how powerful a tool Google Adwords can be. At the same time, if youre like most marketers, youre still looking for a way to really cash in on this fantastic marketplace innovation.

Google Adwords is more than just a tool for earning affiliate commission through a one-time sale. Ill show you how to go much further, and to develop revenue streams that grow bigger and bigger year in and year out.

1. Have your cake and eat it too. When promoting merchant sites, set up your Google Adwords campaign so each person who clicks on your ad is taken to a newsletter sign-up page. Then be different from the majority of newsletter owners by giving them valuable information and making a genuine effort to help them succeed.

Recommend quality multi-tier affiliate programs and residual
income opportunities to grow your downline, then take them by the hand and aid them in developing strong online incomes, which will help you to succeed as well. By doing so you will earn their trust and give them something to lose, and they will be your subscribers for life!

2. Give away a free viral special report and give them a huge incentive to give it away. Remember, every time something with your website address on it is given away, youre getting free publicity, which ultimately means more hits on your website.

You can use this free special report as an incentive to sign up for your newsletter, but another method is to give away the free item first, and then entice them to sign up for your newsletter within the ebook by offering them another freebie; if you play your cards right youll be able to monetize them from both free items, and through your newsletter for as long as you provide them with valuable content.

3. Write an article about a creative marketing concept, and then tie in two to four affiliate links to products that help them to monetize this unique idea you are proposing. Try to make this article 1000 to 1500 words, long enough to go into some detail, but not enough to give the whole concept away.

Through this method you will be able to monetize your readers from, 1. the sleeper links in your article, 2. a ten to fifteen page viral special report that they can get by subscribing to your ezine, 3. your ezine, of course, and 4. the people who eventually receive the special report through the actions of others.

You can even capture the e-mail addresses of these people as well. Your profits are limited only by your thinking, so try to come up with some creative ideas to continue this profit cycle for as long as possible!

All three of these simple concepts have one thing in common:
making a concerted effort to give your visitors something
valuable that they can immediately apply to start profiting from it. Also remember never to share every marketing secret known to man with them; leave the meatiest information for the ebook that youll sell later!
