The Ugly Issue of Sex, Lies, and Credibility - Nu Leadership Series
Post on Aug 8th 2008
An intellectual is a man who takes more words than necessary to tell more than he knows. Dwight D. Eisenhower
Have you ever thought what makes one manager better than another? It might start with his or her credibility. Good values give leaders credibility. Todays politicians argue about Gods political affiliation. Politicians promote values like they were Nike shoes. As a result, Americans are now cynical their leaders.
Lets examine this matter closer. In 1998, President Clinton was caught in a vicious sex scandal. Clearly, it was a national disgrace. There was a circle of low character issues, including adultery, lies, and betrayal. His opponents gleamed at the possible political advantages. However, the results were different than expected.
A character train wreck pursued. Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich resigned, and his replacement Bob Livingston resigned after his adulterous scandal. As a result of these personal shames among politicians, voices grew quieter about these unethical deeds. No one was discussing good family values during this scandalous timeframe. However, people want to think highly about their leaders. Leadership gurus Kouzer and Posner explain that most individuals admire leaders who are honest, inspiring, and competent.
I wonder why these powerful people dont get it. Why do some politicians feel they can short circuit good character in their offices? People do care about character. Clearly, effective leaders need to understand that character does count and is valued among followers. Therefore, more politicians need to listen closer.

Customer Satisfaction Insight: The Uglier The Car, The More Reliable It Is!
I was just reading an interesting article that maintains that initial customer satisfaction with cars is positively correlated with their long-term dependability. So, if our rides are solid during the first 90 days, theyll probably hold up well for the next three or four years, so they say at J.D. Power & Associates.Topping the article were photos o...

Wealth in the new regime flows directly from innovation, not optimization; that is, wealth is not gained by perfecting the known, but by imperfectly seizing the unknown.Kevin KellyOne question that comes to mind is Why should we distinguish organizational values from personal values? Chicago Cubs Handicapping: 2006 Season Preview
The Cubs are expected to win the World Series every year. So I exaggerated it but Cubs fans have their hopes and dreams set on this team every year and the team always stinks it up. They are consistenly overvalued by 13 points over the past 7 seasons. Betting against them is MONEY.Since betting odds in baseball have a lot to do with pitching, the p...

If you run PPC campaigns, you are undoubtedly aware of the changes made over at Yahoo to the old Overture platform. Range bid pricing is in. This, of course, ...

The Boston Red Sox and New York Yankees are set to wage battle, so what else is new? Should be an-out MLB affair, with the World Series Champs looking to hold off their fierce rivals. The Boston Red Sox are World Series Champs, looking to repeat. Yankee Gauntlet Comes to a Close
The New York Yankees have finally finished their 21 game in 20 day gauntlet, as the stretch ended just as it started: with Alex Rodriguez struggling. I really feel that Id be beating a dead horse if I went on and on about how abysmal A-Rod has been playing, both in the field and at the plate; Ill spare him and you all and just say that the guy hasn...
